Super Bowl XLIV is set. The great story about the New Orleans Saints who come from a city still rebuilding itself after a devastating force of nature pummeled it. The Indianapolis Colts who are led by the greatest mind in football's history at quarterback in Peyton Manning.
The stories are starting to leak out hour after hour to hype up a great football contest of will versus wisdom. This will indeed be a game for the ages (or at least what the NFL hopes it becomes). The hype machine is already spinning out prop bets, halftime set list spoilers, among many other things that do not relate to any action on the field
So why is everyone so focused on one television commercial featuring a man who doesn't even play in the NFL?
Because Tim Tebow is starring in it.

Memo To Chicago Bears: Well? We're Waiting......
The Chicago Bears coaching has a familiar ring to it. Sort of like the old song
"Round and round we go
Where we stop NOBODY KNOWS"
From up and coming candidates to lessor known assistants, the Chicago Bears still have not found what they are looking for (another great song). From former Lovie Smith assistant Perry Fewell to today's latest name Hue Jackson who decided to take the offensive coordinator position under Tom Cable in Oakland.
It's now been three weeks since the Chicago Bears decided to clean house on the offensive side of the ball. The question has come up time and time again as it seems as though teams are taking the better of the best while the Bears seem to be sitting on their hands waiting to see how the Super Bowl works out.

Friday Fun: The Best Fight Songs In Professional Sports....
A fun entry on a fun Friday while I count down the hours to Soxfest this evening.
One thing about being a producer at a major market radio station like The Score WSCR 670AM is when the big events are going on locally, the creative forces of the city come out. For example when the 2005 Chicago White Sox went on their championship run.
We received tons of compact discs in the mail and .mp3's in our email from local bands/artists creating what they hope becomes the new fight song for that championship team. Tadahito And The Iguchi's version of "Go Go White Sox" was one of my favorites which I spun on the then Mike North Morning Show once per morning during that 2005 run.
Now I came across this track this morning while getting ready for the Mully And Hanley Morning Show. It's a new Minnesota Vikings fight song not composed by some local outlet, but by multi-grammy award winner....Prince.

Gentleman Jim Thome No Longer Needed On The South Side
It's been a long time since I was this excited about an upcoming Chicago White Sox season. Kenny Williams has transformed this organization into a legit contender for the American League Central Title and possibly a team that could do some damage in the 2010 postseason.
Kenny Williams is taking chances once again, and more often than not he hits with gambles. Bobby Jenks was a troubled and out of shape pitcher just dangling in the Angels minor league system, and look what "Big Bad Bobby" has turned into. A.J. Pierzynski was a guy who most baseball teams considered a cancer after being let go in San Francisco and he has turned into one of the better backstops in the American League at calling a game. Then of course Jermaine Dye who before his career in Chicago was an injury prone type of outfielder, and he turned into one of the more durable players the White Sox have had over the past four seasons.
Kenny Williams has had some faults as well which should not be ignored. Josh Fields never panned out like he had hoped, and remember the Billy Koch experiment. Kenny is not perfect just like any other general manager, but most clubs would love to have him because of his aggressive nature.
So with Soxfest starting tomorrow night (and come see me and say Hi!), here's my plea to Kenny Williams.

Tiger Woods Is No Sex Addict.....
So Tiger Woods has checked himself into private clinic in Mississippi to treat sex addiction.
Can we really call Tiger Woods a sex addict?
I do not think we can.
A quick recap on what has taken place since last November.
Tiger Woods, probably the world's most recognizable athlete, is married to Elin Nordegren for the past five years and they have two children (Sam Alexis and Charlie Axel). Thanksgiving night this past year Tiger Woods was involved in single car accident right outside his driveway hitting a tree and a fire hydrant. Some alleged facial bumps and bruises later, Tiger was cited for wreckless driving.
Rather than deciding to come out and talk about the matter, Woods kept everything in house about the wreck and published reports which surfaced the day prior that Woods had an affair with night club manager Rachel Uchitel which of course she denied. This was just the start of what would become over 15 women coming out in the past few months to have claimed having some sort of relationship with Tiger Woods.
Of course some of Tiger's major sponsors dropped him and some stuck by him but on a lesser scale of promotion. Tiger Woods lost his marriage, lost his reputation, lost income, lost sponsors, and lost integrity as a role model to the youth of America.
However, he is NO sex addict.

Fans Fear The Best Stories In Sports.....
The NFL could not be happier right now. In the eight playoff games so far the average margin of victory is 18.3 points. Blowouts by the favorites and a little drama to boot the past two weekends. The favorites have continued to dominate with one wild card team (a cinderella) remaining of the bunch, which happens to be from the largest television market in the US. Whether your team is still in it or not, the game of football continues to weed out the best of the best.
Things could not be better in the world of the National Football League right now.
Then why are fans fearing what could come to be one of the greatest Super Bowls in recent memory? There can only be one reason and one reason alone.
Why do fans fear the matchup of Brett Favre and Peyton Manning? Inside do we like to hate the great players of the game's history?

Geovany Soto In Shape, Are We Fooling Ourselves Again???
As the Cubs Convention ends this past weekend, the hopes and dreams of many a dyed-in-the-wool Cubs fans have been replenished like they are every year for the last century plus.
Among meet and greets, Q&A sessions, and autographs of legends past and present, its an opportunity for the fans to connect with their heroes of the national pastime.
What also comes with a fan convention is discussion about how the players and coaches themselves spent their time off after yet another disappointing season on the north side. Some go on extended vacations with family to get away from the game altogether and some just continue their routine keeping their focus on the grand prize of MLB. Some guys have new haircuts and some have new wives.
However the talk of the Convention isn't about some new addition to Wrigley Field or the newest acquisitions of Marlon Byrd or Carlos Silva.
